When I'm not hacking or reading about hacking, I've been reading Henry Adams'
Education, which seems to be an old standard with my brother and I; we're both trying to understand our place in history, and we both came from New England. None of our family ever became president, though, so you have to take everything with a grain of salt.
Don't read existentialist philosophy, even an easily digestable summary of existential philosophy, when you have some sort of weird virus that makes your joints hurt and your head ache and makes you feel dizzy all the time.
Now, assuming you feel
just fine, here's what I've been torturing myself with lately: William Barrett's
Irrational Man. It's very good, if dated, and if I weren't suffering from the sickness unto death, I'd probably be enjoying it a lot more.
I just finished up the first volume of X-Men comics, issues 1-24. Now, thanks to
Matt, I'm finishing up
Scott McCloud's new book,
Reinventing Comics. Too early to say whether I agree with him on all counts, but it's certainly a book that someone needed to write. Comics
are going to change, to adapt, and as any avid reader of
Doctor Fun will tell you, they already have.
